Default Can a Type 01 FFL ship to a Type 03 FFL

I have a potential buyer on THAT selling site who holds a type 03 C&R license..... is it ok to ship to him? The pistol was made in 1945 so its more than 50 yrs old.... tho not on the C&R list the ATF maintains. THANKS!

Yes, but only if the gun in question is a C&R qualified gun. ....on the list, or can be proven to be 50+ years old.

The list provided by BATF is the exceptions to the 50 year old rule. They would probably be the "Curios", as opposed to the "Relics".

EDIT: Yes,,, you can ship directly to the C&R licensee once you establish proof of the license.

THANK YOU GEORGE..... he is supplying his 03 plus a copy of his DL with same premise address...

Why do some 01's hesitate or flat out refuse to deal with 03's?

That "P" only means it was proofed after 1929 at Eibar.

You need to look for the date stamp. You may have to remove the grip to find it.

Look all over the gun for a second letter or letter+number combination.

OK DATE Stamp..... man these engineers who built theese sure had to be laughing at those of us years later would be trying to figure out.
The P I understand... and actually.... above that is an X - noting proof after 1931....then to its left is the third mark.. the year mark... jsut as in the pic I posted.... Good Lord... looks like a C or maybe a Q... or maybe a worn out G....no matter as a Z--which it isnt is 1954... so I am still good to go... Note nothing under grips cept looked like a M/M....with the forward slash.... who knows.... but I am going with pre 1954 at least, over 50 yrs old and SOLD...
    THANKS Everyone!!!
