Armed Forces Day
The first Armed Forces Day was celebrated by parades, open houses, receptions and air shows. Armed Forces Day is celebrated annually on the third Saturday of May, and Armed Forces Week begins on the second Saturday of May and ends on the third Sunday of May. Because of their unique training schedules, National Guard and Reserve units may celebrate Armed Forces Day/Week over any period in May. The purpose of Armed Forces day is to honor Americans serving in the five services - the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, and Coast Guard.

Re: Armed Forces Day
We just got a first year apprentice on our job.
While getting to know a bit about him, I asked if he had any military background to which he told me he had 6 years Army.
I thanked him for his service and would like to extend that thanks to all of you who also served.

I am a Viet Nam era vet...got to Nam but lost a few friends from High school over there. My wife complained she was cutting out wedding announcements for her class and death notices for mine.
We should ALL take time to remember those who served, and those who are NOW serving.Say a prayer no solder dies today

My neighbor across the street is a WWII vet, wounded on D Day and again in the Battle of the Bulge. He is one of my heroes!
