Re: Ruger SR1911
Ran fine in mine. The only trouble it had was with some Berry's plated semi wad cutters, but that was also running it with crappy mags. It cycled those fine when using a wilson combat mag. My Kimber did not like the same rounds with any mag. I picked up a 1000 Nosler Custom Competition bullets which is what I am reloading with now, and I have never had a problem with it feeding any of those.

Re: Ruger SR1911
Oh see I didn't know that. Everyone is in a rush to be argumentive we never solve differences of opinions. Thank you for your considerate input. I now know you can raise your clip limit on an SR1911 thus changing my opinion a bit

Re: Ruger SR1911
I just don't know if I would like a clip hanger though. It would be hard to holster.

They're nice looking guns. I just like a bigger stackable clip. Sorry everyone has a problem with that. It's like a Camaro with a 6 cylinder. You can put an extended clip in it but then you have holster issues and a 3 inch clip overage. Just my opinion.

Re: Ruger SR1911
I'm going to guess that cops don't carry sr1911(s) because one the department won't let them or supply ammo and two weight.

Re: Ruger SR1911
Probably because it's just not the most tactical gun. Nice gun but just not the most tactical

Re: Ruger SR1911
Not a problem, I know a lot of folks don't know about these magazines and think they're limited to 7-8 rounds but reliable options do exist to give you capacity comparable to modern 45 pistols. As for carry the magazine adds probably 1-1/4 inches of length sticking out the pistol. Unless you're going to try to do a concealed carry I don't think that would be an issue. I think most people open carry full sized 1911's anyway so I don't think it would be an issue.
However it's personal preference and you have to come to your own conclusions:
You get that extra length but without getting stuck with the wider grip of a double stacked magazine.
Also you analogy on the Camaro is a poor one no offense, the modern Camaro's are making 325 HP from the factory without turbo chargers which is better than many of the classic V8's.Last edited by LifeInPa; November 2nd, 2013 at 01:45 PM.
Sanity, yours if you can keep it.....
