Ankle holster for LCP?
Curious if there are any quality ankle holsters for the LCP that are inexpensive.

Re: Ankle holster for LCP?
Is this going to be used for your main gun? If so I have to caution you. Ankle carry is not ideal for carrying your primary. It's too slow to access in an emergency. That said, it's fine for a backup or deep concealment when necessary.
I have had good luck with the Blackhawk ankle rig. It's very inexpensive, and works very well. I strongly recommend you get one that has an ankle strap to help keep the gun from sliding down your leg. There's no such thing as a free lunch.

Re: Ankle holster for LCP?
Some people like the galco ankle glove. I haven't tried one as yet.
Lou Alessi make a really nice but pricey one. That's a Kahr P9 Covert.
I have used the DeSantis Apache for almost 10 years and it works for me but I may opt for something else soon.
I have never felt the need for the calf strap. This was my BUG rig or whenever I needed to conceal deeply. Least optimal method of carry as far as I'm concerned, yet I had one on today as my primary. My employer had a no gun policy and when I did work, I opted to carry. I did work construction so I climbed ladders, lots of steps, crawled though ceilings & under buildings. I never had it shake loose or had a problem chasing down the coffee truck at break time.
The Alessi just didn't cinch tight enough for me whereas the Apache rode above my 8" workboot just fine.
Wearing it with tennis shoes, I generally pull a sock up and over the holster which helps stabilize it.
One thing is, if you carry in this manner, you MUST practice a lot with presentations. Some people say you hop around on one leg and it very difficult to do. My personal experience is that you can do a reasonable presentation. Once again, it's probably the least optimal method of carry although there are also people out there that mistakenly think they will actually have the opportunity or time to draw from their holster when confronted.Opinions are like anal apertures. They all stink but mine.

Re: Ankle holster for LCP?
I agree.... I too have a Galco and it's worth every penny.
So often in these modern times we want good and cheap. What we get is cheap and not so good. There is a reason that a Bentley cost so much and that is usually true with other things as well.
I have an expression..... "I would rather have a few excellent things than many mediocre ones."With great power comes great responsibility....

Re: Ankle holster for LCP?
I have the desantis for my j frame and it works fine with boots. With dress shoes or sneakers the rig slides down and the bbl rides directly on my ankle bone. Painful and needs constant adjustment.
With an LCP it should be a little better but I woudl go with the Desantis as you can usually find them at a LGS

Thinking about it, he could probably get away with a "lesser quality" holster since the handgun is so small and light.
I'll note though that the Galco has sheepskin on the side that contacts your leg, making it super comfy. The wide neoprene stretchy band wraps around and secures with velcro allowing for a secure fit.
I wouldn't want to wear one for very long without some padding though.I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!

Galco Ankle Lite ! Like the Ankle glove but without the leather holster - suede instead and would work well with a light lcp
