I haven't shot the M&P9 but I owned a M&P40 and own a glock 23. I've shot the glock 17 and 19 both gen 4. I personally just like the glock feel better.

I've never shot a S&W M&P, but have heard good things about them. I have shot a buddy's Glock 17 and I liked it. It had very little recoil. It was like pointing your finger at the target and the bullet goes there. His pistol is either a Gen 2 or Gen 3, so I imagine the Gen 4 is even better with the dual recoil springs and better grip stippling.

    Ford vs Chevy

You'll be served well by picking either, go with what appeals to you. Another viable option is new Walther PPQ M2 though accessories will be harder to find than both models.

I personally shoot the glock better but it really comes down to personally preference. Reliability will be a non issue for either gun.

Other- XDM 9mm 4.5 inch. 19 round capacity and a great shooting gun.

The M&P 9 is my preference, both are reliable and accurate so you can't go wrong. I preferred the ergonomics of the M&P and the fact it's American built/designed so I chose the M&P. I'd pick up the Glock 20 if I ever got into 10mm and reloading.
Sanity, yours if you can keep it.....

    Glock 19. I wish I would've went 19 instead of 17. Just a bit more concealable.

The M&P's just seem to fit me better than the Glocks, but I don't think you can go wrong with either.

I voted other. I'd much sooner purchase a 19 over a 17. Much more versatile of a firearm.

Picked the M&P. The Glocks have never felt right in my hand.
