I've looked around and Savage makes them but not available in the USA.
I like the Tikka but I didn't see it available on the website, and Rem I only see it in the CDL.
I have a Remy 7mm08 cdl that I stole for 665.00 brand new. It shoots 1 1/2 groups at 200 yards all day. I just tried Noslers trophy grade 140 grain accubonds and thats whats going with me this year. I have a 308 and 06 both are accurate but the Remy just feels alittle better in my hands.

I believe the REM CDL is a wood stock and I would prefer to have a synthetic one.
I really like the Tikka but am not over looking anything as I have some options here and want to choose wisely so I can have one (more) rifle rather than 2-3.

Klutch yeah the cdl is wood but its beautiful. My 308 is a t/c venture with the 5r rifling accurate, synthetic stock but its been recalled twice already and thats why I will not recommend them. 06 is a brand new Weatherby Black Reaper Vanguard, accurate, nice 2 stage trigger and skull synthetic stock. All nice rifles check weatherby.

My last 270 was a vanguard but the stock sucked. I had to put the bell and Carlson stock on it before it shot nice. It would push the 3rd round like 3" right at 100 yds cause the barrel would touch the stock. But other then that I loved it.
I want something that shoots right out of the box

    Extremely interesting discussion of cartridges.
I much liked the early comment about harvesting game at long range...."I hunt not snipe."
Also....disagree with the "too much gun" comments. There is no such thing as having too much gun......you may have the wrong bullet for the task at hand but never too much gun.

Any of those are fine for deer. I went with .308 because of the huge selection of 30 cal bullets available and plethora of well known accurate reloading data on it, which is something to consider if you're doing long range shooting outside of hunting season.

What models are the 06 and 308?
