Non_resident CCW
Hello, I have CCW in my home state. PA does not offer reciprocity. I plan to apply for a nonresident permit as I will be spending a lot of time in the area over the next year. One website said Bucks county might be problematic regarding issuance of a nonresident permit.
two questions...Since I won't have a residence here' does the county to which I apply matter?
can anyone confirm or deny difficulty with this in Bucks?
Thank you-
LadyJ

Re: Non_resident CCW
Legally, any county is supposed to issue to a qualified non res. But some make up their own rules about this
Some are more friendly to non res and will issue on the spot while you wait. Some won't issue to non res at all.
You could call around and ask how they handle it.

Re: Non_resident CCW
Your profile says "NC working in PA". If your homestate permit is from NC than PA does reciprocate.
Getting a PA LTCF since you are here is still a good idea. Bucks County will issue to non-residents with home state permits.

Re: Non_resident CCW
Noth Carolina has more reciprocity with other states than Pennsylvania does.
This site may be helpful for you:

Re: Non_resident CCW
Thank you...All of you.
I looked at the map before I posted, but read it incorrectly. When I went back after Mr Jam 2 Jab said they PA does provide reciprocity I read it correctly. I am not sure what I did the first time but am delighted to know I have reciprocity.
Thank you Father-of-three for the link.
Hired Goon, thank you as well.
I wish California was as easy. I have to fly there tomorrow.
Thanks again.

There is no difference between 'resident' and 'non-resident' applications for the 4-127.Last edited by tl_3237; August 5th, 2015 at 03:33 PM.

Re: Non_resident CCW
thank you! Can I simply fill it out and bring it to Bucks County Sherriff's office to apply? Or, do I need to make an appointment?

Make sure that Bucks will issue to non-residents.
Reading the link above, it seems that you can drop off application without an appointment. Perhaps someone from Bucks can confirm for you or you can contact the sheriff's office.
You will need a CCW from your state of residence to qualify.Last edited by tl_3237; August 5th, 2015 at 03:39 PM.

Re: Non_resident CCW
Again, thanks so much for helping me. I know that Bucks will issue, a fellow CT resident went there last week; he wasn't as helpful as you however with complete information! Bob
