I'm of course new to the forum, so first off i would like to say hi. I'm interested in getting a ltcf but i live at school. i was wondering if i have to do this in the school town or my home town? Also if any members have some tips or info to make this process fast and simply it would be appreciated.

Welcome!
First off, you have to be 21 years old for a LTCF (just checking because you say you're a student). EDIT - I now see you're 22 in your info.
I would just wait til you're home one Friday and go to your Sheriff's office in your home county, the address that's on your driver's license. Otherwise I believe you'd have to legally change your address to apply near school.
Conduct as much research as possible here on this site before taking the responsibility to carry. Good luck and enjoy!

I'm surprised knight hasn't come along yet. This is a tricky one. I believe that you can apply in the county where you are going to school. Don't hold me to it.

Nope, Have to apply at the sheriffs dept of the county that the town on your DL is in. To do it any other way you would have to do a change of address for your DL.

This has come up before. You have to apply in the county you reside. Residence is determined by the address on your ID.
Your choices are.
A: Apply back home. Look at how your sheriffs office conducts business. Some you can send your application in by mail. Some will also process and issue while you wait in the office. This may save you two trips back home.
I know in Allegheny county you can mail or email in your application. When it's ready you pick it up in person.
B: Change your address to where your going to school and apply at the office local to your school."No, it's just a machine. I'm the weapon." - Jack Harper in Oblivion
