Finally... Got my SR1911!

Been waiting a long time for this one. Sure I could have spent more money on a higher quality 1911, but for my budget and what I was looking to spend, this is the exact one I've been wanting for close to a year now. Ever since last winter when the panic started, these things were impossible to find. Store owners just laughed at you when you asked about their availability, and prices were ridiculous as they were up around $800 from what I saw. After renting one at a range and watching/reading TONS of reviews, I knew my next semi was going to be a 1911 and that it was gunna be the Ruger. I waited to so long for them to come back around that I near forgot about it, until last week when my uncle was in his LGS and noticed they had a few in stock. He let me know immediately, and I was up the next day to pick one up! And the price was right too - $629.

Let me just say all of the reviews I read and watched were spot on, this thing is a sweet shooter and accurate as hell. Feels great in my hand, love the sights and trigger right out of the box, and I've always admired the look as well. I believe Ruger nailed it on this one, hence the apparent popularity. Had it to the range on Sunday for the first time, put 200 rounds through it without one hiccup. The trigger started to smoothen out and felt better and better as I went. Already starting my reloads for it as well

Congrats. I got my first 1911 within the last year - a Rock Island Armory.
I never realized you could get a 1911 for under a grand!

Very nice, I have been waiting for them to become widely available for years. If I get a good tax return this year I will probably get one, or a M1 Carbine.

Good for you. I haven't seen an SR in any of the LGS's in my town or the neighboring ones in I can't remember when. They are sold before they ever make it to the display case, and not at no $629.
