CCRKBA letter on Gun/Ammo taxation
Got home today and found a letter from Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms in my mailbox. Essentially a "Congressional Ballot" to send my rejection to house leaders concerning HR 3018 - 50% tax on ammo, 20% on guns with proceeds to be spent on community initiatives ... However of course second half of ballot was a donation form for the lobbying effort.
Although had heard rumblings of tax increases, couldn't recall anything imminent - and indeed no mention on NRA-ILA site, who are pretty much the gold standard in not letting anything by (particularly something that would ding the Industry). GovTrack says this bill has only a 1% chance or leaving committee and 0% of being passed into law. Anyone have substantive reason to believe differently? Kind of feeling like this letter might be a cry wolf to bolster the coffers? More widely, any views on CCRKBA or their sister Second Amendment Foundation?"The right of the citizens to bear arms in defense of themselves and the State shall not be questioned." Constitution of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
