    Lightbulb Ammo can for emergencies?

    Hello all!

I was thinking of putting together a "Breakdown kit" to put in my vehicle for the winter. I was thinking a 50cal or 20mm ammo can full of things that can help get me out of a jam and keep me warm/safe during the winter time.

I was thinking a wool blanket, fuel tabs, a fire starter, and a emergency charger for my cell to start with. Any other ideas?

I use mine as carriers when going to the range.

Mirror for signaling, magnifying glass for fire, Harbor Freight towing strap, jumper cables, actual map(s), small compass, water, Granola Bars or similar, snow gear (boots, gloves, hat), rain gear, extra fuel. Solar charger for the battery. You're gonna need a bigger box.

Hmmm. I see empty ammo cans lying around as a challenge to buy more ammo.

It's similar to a GHB (get home bag). Hybrid car needs and personal needs.

Make sure you don't use a full container for the water.

Yeah I wouldn't limit yourself to that size unless you have to since it'll be staying in the vehicle.

That's a good example of some useful things although I'm sure he can contribute some more if he feels up to it.

    1st Aid Kit
    550 cord or rope
    Knife
    Safety Vest
Seasonal clothing (rain wear, coat, boots)
    Spare ammo
    Basic hand tools
    MRE(s)
    Money ($50 in $1 and $5 bills)
    Can of Fix A Flat
    List of emergency phone numbers
    Sun screen lotion
    Feminine products if female/married/etc...
Child products (jar of food and a few diapers) if you have small kids

The list could be endless. Don't be surprised when you find yourself needing a footlocker to replace the ammo can.

    I like it.

    A few questions though:

    How big is it?

Does it have a rubber gasket?

    How much is it?
