2013 Small Game report!

Well I'll start the thread, It's self explanatory boys. Saturday was the youth hunt. Not a expert here but this how our day went.

Congrats on the exciting hunt.Looks like your boy make a fine shot at the end of the video there.

Oldest son is the kind of hunter where every animal in the woods, and fish just are drawn to. The other dropped 2 before all that and didn't find one. We even used a dog to retrieve the one and it was no where. He finally rolled this one, and it was sort of on video.

Well he is lucky to be one of the few that game is drawn to.Sometimes like this afternoon i think i am too then theres the other days where i couldnt find anything at the zoo.Sometimes you knock them down and as soon as they hit the ground they are off running.Ive seen it happen a few times. I thought the video was pretty good, especially at the end there with that last shot.

Nice hunt it looks like. Makes me miss having bird dogs,.. lucky guys out hunting with their dad. Where was the video shot, it looks like a game land?? Did you see much squirrel?

No squirrels but the game land holds them. My favorite spot there is to the left of the rifle range and across the main road. we hunted pheasant so not much was hunted past them. A guy I didn't know just offered to have is hunt over his dog it was awesome. The youth season clears out after a hour or two, and thd action was awesome 20-30 flushes!

I might not go for deer this weekend. I haven't decided yet. Looks like next week will be a good week to be in stand. Temps are supposed to drop a lot.
