The Firing Line, Philly - info request

My SPAG membership expired and I want to explore some more local options. I've never been to The Firing Line but plan to go check it out as a guest. I'd love to get some feedback from current or former members.

The have a website but there isn't much info there. Edit; just found a second website with more info including membership cost etc.

Just curious about the place in general. I see you need to purchase their ammo. Are they typically well-stocked? Any strict rules about rapid fire, drawing from holster etc? Any feedback appreciated.

In regards to Philly ranges, I find Delaware Valley Sports Center to be my favorite. You do NOT have to buy their ammo.

Must buy their ammo raises my blood pressure too high to be able to shoot.

Yeah, it gets difficult at times to make accurate comparisons.
Must buy their ammo is coupled with low membership fee of $100/yr so for some people who don't get to the range often it actually works out better. Especially if their ammo is reasonably priced. Obviously if you go to the range once a week it would not be such a great deal.

Do they at least let you keep the brass that they made you buy? Some operators view it as "their brass".

No idea about Firing Line.
At SPAG if you buy their ammo you can take your brass.

You can keep your brass. I went there a lot when I first started shooting so I don't know if it's updated but the ventilation wasn't so good, your separated by ply wood with bullet holes in it and the target is worked by a light switch. There is no rifle and they would usually be out of the ammo I needed. Some people love it there and there ammo is cheaper than spag but I find spag to be a better facility

Firing line is a more realistic setting type shooting, cold in the winter, leaks when it rains, hot in the summer and as mentioned the ventilation system wasn't very good. Oh, and the lighting was poor too. Don't think you're allowed to draw from a holster, it's been years since I was there.

I was also a VIP at SPAG nicely kept range but real expensive. If you only shoot once in a while SPAG charges $25 a day and you can shoot your own. City ranges are expensive. If you can travel find a place outside the city to join.

The place is a pit. Used to be long there back in the 80's when they first opened and it hasn't changed at all since then.

The upkeep (or lack thereof) of the facilities makes me nervous about what kind of ventilation system they have over there. For all I know, it could be top notch and work flawlessly; but it seems unlikely IMO. As mentioned above, when it's oppressively hot or unbearably frigid outside, it's often the same inside... especially early in the day. All that being said, pickin's are slim in the city so beggars can't be choosers, I suppose. A run down range is better than no range at all, right?
