Default some questions about a Luger i just acquired

Good afternoon fellow guys and gals,

i just recently picked up this Luger in a trade. It's my second Luger i own (other is a Erma .22 Luger). But i have a few questions that hopefully some one can help me with. This is what i know about it and correct me if I'm wrong! (cause its what i was told by the original owner, but I've found some problems with his story)

It's a DWM commercial 1920's Luger, .30 Luger is the cal. with a 3.75 length barrel. It is fully matching numbers through out the gun its original no replaced parts. Low 3 digit serial number 679. Rifling is shiny and in pretty good shape for its age. It was imported to the united states in the 20's for commercial sales.

So my questions are as follows
    Is the above information correct?
Approximate year based upon serial #s?
Is the mag supposed to have a wooden bottom? because i think the plastic one is a repo?
Value? based on the conditions you can see in the pictures.
And any information on this gun or manufacture would be great!

Thanks for all you help in advance!

    ~Kris

I have a 1941 Mauser P-08 Luger, but I am no expert. I will say that this is really your first "Luger". The Erma .22 while having a toggle action is not a true P-08, nor does it really operate in the same manner as it is a blowback.

Maybe someone can give you some good info here, if not, as others have said, go here.

Your serial number is 679m. Usually, the numeric part of Luger serial numbers only go up to 9999, so the m is an important part of the s/n.

IANAL. I don't give legal advice. I'm only stating my OPINION.
(Did I really need to say that on an Internet forum? LOL)

Are you using that brass polish on the gun?
I am not a lawyer. Nothing I say or write is legal advice.

Thanks guys for all the input this far, that luger forum is a big help as well! And for the brass polish no! Lol it's just sitting back there on the reloading bench/gun bench!
