York Cutlery 16 Gauge Shotgun Question
I Recently received a single shot 16 gauge shotgun that appears to be fairly old in excellent condition. On the top of the barrel there are the words "YORK CUTTLERY--YORK, PA. further on down the top of the barrel there are other indistinguishable words that end with the word (SPAIN) in parenthesis. The barrel is blue steel, the receiver has a lot of very intricate engraving as does the edge of the barrel nearest the receiver. The stock is regular wood with nothing special on it.
The Serial number is 77120
Can anyone tell me anything about the backround of this gun or manufacturer?

Re: York Cutlery 16 Gauge Shotgun Question
Norm,
I have a revolver that is stamped "YORK CUTTLERY--YORK, PA". I too have had a very hard time trying to find any information on the gun. I have found out that York Cutlery was the importer of the gun, not the manufacturer. Mine was made in Italy by I.G.I., but that doesn't help you much with your manufacturer. If you ever get any info on when yours was imported, I'd appreciate it if you'd let me know.
Thanx,
Dean Sarra
