Default Last chance for a Nagant?

Local gun store has Nagants NIB (such as they are) with all accessories and covered with cosmoline for $160 out-the-door. Local guy who is an ex-Philly copy, very gun friendly, says the imports of these are to be cut off. What do you think - is he right?

If so, then I would guess that now is the time to jump on one of these babies...

    Opinions please!

I know Obama has signed an executive order to ban the importation of Surplus arms into the county. I know it applies to M1, M1 carbine and 45's . I know cmp was effected. I am unaware if this applies to all surplus arms.

Mosin or Mosin Nagant is the rifle, Nagant is the revolver.
He is wrong and they will continue to be imported. These are not effected by Obamas EO. Prices will steadily climb over time, $160 is about average right now.

Buy them cheap, stack them deep applies to rifles as well as ammo.

the price mentioned seems high. My local shop gets a case or two every year.

price mentioned is about right on par with the going rate, even online after you factor in shipping and transfer fee...have you seen the prices lately? They will only continue to rise, ban on imports or not as our dollar loose value daily

Also Nagants have been surplus for some time now. You got to figure that they are going to dry up sooner or later. I've noticed over the last year that some ads often come with the disclaimer that you may not get all accessories (oil bottle, tools, ammo pouch, bayonet) that you did in the past.

I will check this Saturday at my shop. But I think they sell them about $120.00 maybe less. Of course they get a case at a time. Bulk discount?

Thats not a bad price and about the going price online, but like i said factor in shipping and transfer your right around the 160-180 range.

hell cableas got a case of them in and they are all sitting at like 160-170 on the racks in horrible shape (all priced the same).

i should of bought a case 2 years ago

The CMP was not affected by this EO because the CMP is not an importer. The rifles at the CMP are donated to them by the Army after they receive them back from other countries. This is why CMP guns are not import marked.
