    Default 1911 or xdm .45

Between the two (2) given choices which would or do you prefer? The obvious is the greater round capacity, thickness, features. So lets have at it. Which would you choose and why?

1911. Trigger pull, feel, all metal, timeless design.

depends on what you're using it for.

I have both and can give all the information you need on them. Feel free to PM me.

Out of those two the 1911 is my choice.
    I like metal guns though.

    Personally I'd pick a Baby Eagle, Sar K2, or a CZ97.
Then you have metal and capacity.

For a poly is give the nod to an FN.

1911. If my husband had been carrying a piece of plastic when I met him, I would have never had his baby.

I refused to respond to the poll. I own a 1911 and XD45, and holsters and 5 spare mags for each.

I carry the 1911 daily, it's slimmer, prettier, and I get more cookies. I figure if I can't blast my way outta Dodge with 8+1 then another 4 or 5 likely won't save my ass either. I also like being able to change the grips on the 1911 depending on the season/holiday/event, etc.

If the zombies come it'll be the XD and my M4.
While many claim to support the right, precious few support the practice.

Between those two I would go 1911. Something from SIG or SW probably (assuming you would want to keep the price under $1000). But I'm not a fan of the XD series (bore axis too high, way too much mass for the slide). If you were asking M&P I would have given it more thought. Plastic has it's place. Just has to be the right plastic.

Both are fine firearms, so I would say it comes down to individual needs and preferences. I would go with a 1911 because it would make a better addition to my current collection, but that's completely subjective.
