Opinions wanted

Recently got a Ruger 10/22. Just looking for opinions on what type of optics I should go with. Mainly will be used as a all around rifle plinking/target/varmints etc. Needs to mount to a Weaver rail and has no open sights. Thanks in advance.

I have a compact sized 3-9x40 on mine, it looks better than putting a full size on a relatively short gun.

I love shooting Iron Sights..., but I have a bushnell banner 3-9x on my groundhog gun. It works well.

A good red dot sight is nice but I think I'd go with a 3x9 or 12 scope.

Thanks guys. Thats sort of where I am at. A fairly cheap red dot or a good compact scope if I can find one. I love my EoTech on my AR but not sure I would want that on this rifle, would rather "see" farther I guess. Then again I could always just interchange.
