First fifty through my new CZ......flawless!
I managed to get to the range with my new (to me) CZ 75 BD. The pistol is everything I hoped it would be with the exception of a somewhat gritty double action trigger pull which I expect will smooth out over time. The single action however consistently broke clean with just a small amount of take up. Reset also felt good and recoil was practically a non issue. I only put fifty rounds of Federal fmj through it today since I don't want to go through my supply too fast before I get more. The gun was flawless and as accurate as I could be. I brought along my Ruger Mark 3 so I could gauge how I was shooting today. It wasnt my best day so I'll blame the three inch groups at thirty feet on me. Instead of the "pumpkin on a fence post" sight picture I did have to cover my intended point of impact with the front sight which I can live with. Two of my three Sigs require the same sight picture so its nothing I'm not used to. All in all it was a great first outing and I am very glad I got this pistol. The holster in the pic is a crossbreed second which I got for 33 dollars shipped to my door. It was listed as being in fair condition but the only flaw I can find are the extra holes which don't bother me at all. Thanks PAFOA for the advice leading up to this purchase. As always, it is greatly appreciated. Brian

Great pistol, love mine. And love the Czech approach to a toolkit . . . ". . . bang the pin out with the magazine". Works fine, too lol

Yup. You shouldn't. That first 50 is just the tip of the iceberg.
Over a year ago I decided to run a little torture test over the course of a few months to really gauge the reliability of my 75.
I completely cleaned it and a single mag. Then over a three month span I shot, and shot, and shot. Keeping track of how many 100 round bulk packs of Federal 115g from Walmart I was going through.
Other than running a dry boresnake through the barrel once after every session I did not clean it. No cleaner, no wiping, no reapplying lube.
I'd have to check my records on exactly which round ended my test but it was during box 62. Might have been round 27 or 28 IIRC.
Yes, not a single stoppage in over 6100 rounds through her.
The stoppage was a double feed. After that I packed her up, took her home and have her a well deserved and thorough cleaning.
I shoot alot of Tula and other steel cased "crap" ammo too. Never had an issue.
Mine also loves Blazer Aluminum cased ammo too.
Enjoy your CZ. Also if you haven't already. Make room in your safe for siblings. The CZ family always seems to grow like rabbits.Last edited by Armor Snail; September 8th, 2013 at 09:15 PM.

That is one of my favorite pistols to shoot. Love it!
ETA: Don't know why the CZ mags are so damn expensive though! The USA is now a banana republic. Only without the bananas....or the Republic.

To Raxar.......where do you shoot? I'd love to shoot that Witness and let you shoot the CZ if you are interested. I've read a lot about the Witness while waiting for a CZ to come up and want to feel one for myself. I know where there may be a 45 for around 325.
