If it helps ACR Tavor and scar 16 are at the top of my list.

None of them are as 'modular' as an AR.

I've always wanted to touch an XCR.

ACRs are kind of cheaply made.

If I recall, Robinson Armament had initial issues with the XCR, and while I haven't been looking for any, I don't recall seeing them pop up lately. Then again, I guess I can say the same for the ACR (Freedom Group issue?)

What was the issue I keep hearing about it but never can quite get a straight answer and then have a divided group tell me the ACR is the best then the next say I'm a fool to Even think about it?? Confusing much.

I have always liked the AUG. The Tavor platform is very slick also(I like them so much I get updates every time they come in stock). I know you said no ARs, but if you want piston and modular check out PWS. They make great complete rifles and sell all parts and hardware to build your own. I mounted a MK116 upper on a custom billet lower and am thrilled with the results.

Initially, yes. There were issues with the gas sytem. Since then, they have been fixed.

The issue now (why you don't see much of them) is because of manufacturing. They just don't crank that many out. Great ergonomics, poor production rate. That is a deterrent all in itself.

Yeah, that can be a downer especially when spare parts are proprietary. Not that an AR piston system isn't.

I'm kinda confused by your "modular" keyword and then that list... you say you don't want AR15s mentioned, but PWS/LWRC seem to be at the top of your criteria.

I don't think you know what modular means.

Shit, are ARX100s even available? LOL.

    Might as well try Faxon...
