    Default 5.45 7N6 Surplus

Curious what any of you guys think the future holds for our beloved spam cans of Com-bloc surplus 5.45x39?

I know we're still waiting for things to settle down, but have any of you priced a crate or can of this stuff recently? It's damn near the price of current production, non-corrosive 7.62x39.

My hope is that it will eventually go "down" to around $160 a can (was what, $130 or so right before the panic? I might be mistaken). My fear is that it will only go up, as supplies dry up and the political climate worsens...

    Thoughts?

    Regards,

    Bones

Bear in mind that there is a ton of it going to various "Civil Wars" in the Mideast.

That alone will limit the supply.... thereby pushing up the price.

This is not true. It is uncommon to see 5.45 in use there. In fact, many will convert the rare 5.45x39 AK's they do have to 7.62x39.

This sounds like many gun store stories to price gouge.

I'm currently waiting for it to drop in price don't want to pay $225 for 1080 rounds of 5.45 when I can get 5.56 steel core for 299.99 for 1000. It used to be half the price.
