Buying AR-15 Bushmaster or Rock River?
Hi everyone! I just want to get the scoop on something here. I’m looking at buying an AR-15, but there are a couple of brands that I have been looking at. One is Bushmaster, and the other is Rock River. I’ve been hearing that Rock River is a tad less money and slightly better then Bushmaster, and Rock River also has the chrome line barrel and two stage trigger included. So far its 50/50 But I could use some more information, and opinions would be great.
Thanky

I can't say which is better, but I will add that I'm really happy my RRA kit came with the 2 stage trigger. Definitely worth the money.
I'll also add that the fit and finish on my RRA kit is great.
Good luck on your decision.I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!

Re: Buying AR-15 Bushmaster or Rock River?
I own a Bushmaster XM15-E2S that I'm very happy with. Fit and finish is perfect and accuracy is terrific. I ordered a boatload of parts to build up another gun with their receiver.
Don't know if it matters to you, but I've gotten good support from the Bushmaster folks. They actually picked up the phone whenever I've called them and been very helpful.
I've no experience with RRA rifles, but the impression I get from reading on the subject is that they're good guns. I have no doubt you'd be happy with either one, so it just comes down to what you can find and how much you want to spend.

i've had both, and can't say enough about the RRA. I owned 2 bushmasters and sold them both my RRA is MUCH more accurate than the bushmaster ever was, and it also will eat anything, where the bushmaster wasnt a big fan of wolf.
in short, get the RRA and dont look back

Re: Buying AR-15 Bushmaster or Rock River?
Technically, neither is an AR15, only Colts or Armalites are AR15s. Everyone else plays on that moniker. Fit and finish as well as sourcing of parts can be different, different barrel quality, cast receivers verses forged......there are lots of differences, check out AR.com for more detailed info.
I've got a ban era Bushy that I swapped parts around on and one I built on a Stag lower.Last edited by Dave in PA; May 3rd, 2008 at 08:45 PM. Reason: spelling

Re: Buying AR-15 Bushmaster or Rock River?
I'm happy with my Bushy.
But I think my rear sight(I have A2 carry handle) are mounted slightly off center.
Now, this doesn't matter, because I use red dot optics, but nonetheless not too cool.
Good thing about AR type rifle is that no matter what manufacture you go with, its easy to change out whatever you may not like with something you like.
So with that being said, I'd go with whatever your happy with.Audemus jura nostra defendere

The Rock Rivers currently have some long build times for most anything that isn't off the shelf - not sure if bushy has the same problem or not...
