Well, going with my gut and ordering parts from Numerich/gunparts. Just annoying that the extractor shown on the FI schematic ( same schematic used for FI and Star Firestar ) is not correct. If I go into the Star Firestar schematic the extractor it shows for that gun is actually the one that fits the FI ( like they have the designation backwards? - as mentioned, they use the same schematic for both guns and show two different extractors 11A and 11B but after removing the extractor from my FI, it is not the one they show for the FI. ( man, I'm confused just writing that ). So I'm ordering the one they show for the Star because it is a perfect match. I don't really see anything wrong with the old extractor, but I'm getting one anyway along with the new spring. Thanks all!

Aha - I decided to take a look at the extractor a little closer so I put it under my lamp and used the jewelers/gunsmith magnifying glass I bought at the last gun show and sure enough, there are some little burrs/pits in the hook of the extractor - I'm assuming it's just enough to cause the issues? Add extractor replacement to my amateur gunsmithing skills

I've used Bob's before, but in this case, Bobs wants $35 for extractor and Numerich wants $18.20

That would be enough to mess up the extraction process.
