Denied purchase of first handgun!!!!! Help!

I was denied. The guy at the gun shop had it on speaker phone while he was on hold. The lady answered and asked "What is she trying to buy?" He said a handgun, not a long gun. The i heard him say "so can i give it to her?" Then he called me over and had informed me that I was denied. I was pissed. Before i went to the shop i did extensive research on the perfect gun for me. One that will be reliable, good for carry (once i apply for permit to carry) I found the Ruger LC9, perfect size, and will do what i need it to do, if it ever came down to it. Plus it was pink!

I would like to think a ffl and the person performing the pics check would know there is not a different standard for purchasing a long gun or handgun.

OK, you mentioned that it was on hold. The dealer you are using must be very understanding as most would not hold it for you after a denial. That is why I though it might be just in research.

I stand corrected. Too many mentions of things being on hold.

It could be a screw up on the age of the OP, if they asked what was she trying to buy, and the reply was a "hand gun", then PICS must have been under the impression that she was NOT 21 yrs. old.

The phone was on speaker while the dealer was put on "hold". It was still on speaker for her to hear the question that the PICS operator asked. I saw no mention of the dealer holding the gun for her after her denial.

I have my gun on hold, with my flashbang holster. Hopefully everything comes back as okay, if not, looks like its a baseball bat for me until i can get it all situated...

Good catch, I did not think of that. If that is the case it should be no problem to get it reversed. Although if that is the case I'm surprised it went to a denial and not into research. Time will tell. Hopefully it turns out good for the OP. PAFOA is behind you all the way.
