    Default Grip Pod Experience?

Does anyone have any thoughts/experiences on the grip pod?

I've spent a large chunk of cash on an 18" AR15 and am trying to get it ready for the range.

I am a novice. I've been told to learn to shoot without a bipod first, so a grip would probably be a good thing to get. Eventually, I'll need a bipod for the long range stuff. I've been eyeing the tango down combat vertical grip and a harris swivel bipod. However, I just learned about this grip pod, which is a combination of both worlds at more than half the cost.

Money is a bit of an issue, but I don't want to sacrifice quality over cost.

The immediate pro is save in cost, convenience, and less weight. The con is the bipod is not adjustable and may not be very stable.

Anyone have any experience with it? Thoughts? Advice?

I find a forward vert grip to be slower and not very conducive to shooting long range on my AR's. It's a personal preference, but you may want to try some guns, with and without the vert grip.

When I use a bipod I prefer the Harris models that can swivel. You don't want to be fooling with leg length to work around uneven ground all the time. You also want one you can use in prone, but will still be high enough to clear a 30 round mag. I usually set my bipod legs to that specific length and then leave them there. Not sure if that's possible with the grip pod.

Thanks Lycanthrope. I'll probably just go with a 9-13" Harris, swivel bipod for now.
