Field & Stream
Visited the new Field & Stream yesterday and today. Today was their official grand opening. The store is basically a mini Cabelas. I would guess that is about 1/3 or less the size of the Cabelas in Wheeling. The reason I went 2 days in a row is because yesterdays pricing was all thier inflated retail prices and nothing was to go on sale until today. We, went in today and not much better pricing. They did have some OK door buster deals but for the most part, the typical over inflated Dicks pricing. You can certainly touch stuff but could easily save 30% by purchasing from online retailers.
And, are they going to drop selling pistols and black guns just like Dicks???

Re: Field & Stream
I don't support them because of the decision to quit selling the evil rifles.

Re: Field & Stream
Thursday I stopped in to check it out and I wasn't impressed. Friday I drove by about 9:30am and hundreds of people outside waiting to get in. I stopped at the Walmart nearby and and they had plenty of ammo with no one in line

Re: Field & Stream
I stopped by today if you took the time to look through the madness there were some very good deals.
I found a bulk pack of 250rnds of .40 for 79 bucks with an ammo can.
I was also able to grab a 500round pack of Federal XM855 for $200
Overall I was pleased with the store. There are deals to be had if you took the time to look through the madness. None of my deals were on the roped off pallets with security officers guarding the ammo. The rifle case was behind the gun counter and the .40 can was just stacked by a roof support. Yeah they weren't really advertising what the best deals were but hey they are a business out to make money if you don't want to take the time to look around shame on you.
