Default Since we are playing what's my m1 carbine worth.

Figured I would play also. Asked a few other places but was curios what the locals thought. I bought this gun from the CMP a few years ago. It was purchased as a service grade. I received it with a cracked stock and the barrel was gauged as a rack grade. They sent me a tag to return it. When it was received back at the CMP I got a call from one of the smiths who said he had replaced the stock with a Winchester stock and added a few more Winchester parts. He gave me two options for the barrel. Replace it with a service grade barrel or keep this one and down grade to rack grade and get the difference refunded. His opion was to keep this barrel as it was most likely original. I agreed and here we are.

Looks like a nice carbine. Based on comparable Winnies that have recently sold, you'd probably be able to get $900-950 or somewhere around there. The barrel wear would probably be your biggest issue since people buying a rebuild are going to want it for a shooter. I don't personally get hung up on ME numbers but a lot of people do. A nice increase on your original investment no doubt.

Wish I would have jumped on the CMP Carbines while they had them.
A Republic, if you can keep it.
