    Default Utah Online Renewal

My Utah permit has a good few months left to go, but I thought I'd start looking into the process now. Based on what other posters here have indicated, I checked out the Utah BCI site to see about their online option.

Has anyone renewed via the portal? Any tips/thoughts about the process?

    Thanks!

No problems at all........don't know if it will flag you for "months in advance" renewal.

Back when I renewed it was quick & easy, the extra $.75 is worth it, arrived within a week, two at the most.

What did you all do for the photo ? Scan in a passport size photo ? Scan in your high school photo ?

Thinking that I might screw up the photo scared me off from renewing on their portal.

I uploaded a JPEG of a 2x2 passport quality photo.

Have someone take a picture of you with a digital camera.

you can use the app www.epassportphoto.com

I think it made 4 2x2 passport size photos on one 4 x 6 image. I then cropped it and uploaded one photo.

Pretty much what I did as well, high quality digital image cropped to the 2x2 size and uploaded to the appropriate spot on the form. They don't seem to be too strict with it either, after I sent my wife's smiling photo I saw where it said no teeth showing, still went through without a problem.

Wow, sounds simple as hell, and a really quick turnaround, too.

When it's time (as Sober noted -- 90 days prior!), I'll try the online option.

    Thanks for the feedback, guys!

My experience was the same as gbrowns. Snapped a photo of myself and my PA LTCF with my phone. New UT license was in the mail on day 8, counting the evening I completed the process online as day 1. Well worth the .75 convenience fee, IMO.
