That's gorgeous! The knob on the end of the ejector rod, the humpback hammer, pencil barrel, half round front sight and small logo are really special.

gnb, I'm not sure what model(1902 or 1905) or change (1st-4th) you M&P is but that S/N sure looks like to be in the 1920's range.

If you really want to pin it down post pics on smith-wessonforum.com with request for ship date, model and change.

Those guys have forgotten more about these revolvers than I'll ever know.
