Default Open Carry Selinsgrove - encounter with PD

Disclaimer: I work as a Paramedic; I have frequent interaction with the Selinsgrove PD in my official capacity. As such, the usual advice of don't volunteer information & disengage as politely & practically as possible would no apply as all the Officers know me, my car, & most of my work schedule.

Needing coffee after having gotten of a 24 hr shift. The Kind Cafe is on my way home in town, friendly coffee shop, locally owned, I've OCed there a couple times.

Police Chief was right inside the front door, we exchanged pleasantries & I ordered my coffee. I added cream, and on first impression enjoyed a bold, slightly dark (pleasingly) roast with hints of _______, & subtle swirls of _________.

On the way out he asked what I was up to today: I'd just got off, errands, bank then home. We chatted about one of the officers who is a black cloud & manages to always get EMS rained on as well.

An all in all uneventful encounter.

That's not even an "OC encounter", that's a conversation with a professional colleague.

Honestly, that title was quite misleading. Still good to hear it was uneventful though, nonetheless.

God damnit, I came here looking for someone to say something stupid and get corrected.

You built me up, then let me down man. Not cool.

Glad to hear all was well.

The one officer seems to always get crappy calls, that drag EMS along for the ride. Multiple drunk college kids, covered in pee/belligerent stuff like that.

& no, I've been to High Velocity two or three times, got horrible service. Some co-workers have had similar experiences. Doing a pistol transfer took an hour, because they simply did not want to provide service.

I take my money to Erik @ Middlecreek Shooting supply.

He has a military/veteran/EMS/Fire discount. He also does lay away for any firearm you want to buy. Reloads, can sell you ATF stuff.

Darn English Nazis. I was posting on my phone :-) I corrected some of my mis-spellings to.

On another note... The "butcher" sandwich from the kind cafe is really really good.... For a drink I normally get an iced bus driver with a double shot... Great spot....

As for High velocity... Never had an issue with that guy... He has come in when the store was closed to do a transfer for me.... Has always been nice and accommodating.... Same for Erik at middle creek... Never had an issue with either of those guys...
