Default Gun Store Employees and Open Carry

I went to Classic Pistol (which is a great range by the way) today to go and shoot my XDm and my Pf9 with my girlfriend, and when I was leaving I overheard the employee; who I had never seen before, having this conversation with a customer:

Customer: "..............(dont know what he said).....open carry"
Employee: "No, open carry is illegal in Philadelphia"
Me to other Customer: "Open Carry is legal in philadelphia, so long as you have your LTCF"
Employee: "No, you are not allowed to OC in Cities of the First Class, Philly is a first class city
Me to Employee: You are allowed if you have your license to carry
    Employee: "No."

I didnt feel like arguing and explaining about Vipers philly OC situation, and left. But this seems to be a common misconception at ranges and gun stores. Is there a reason? I dont understand.

People dishing out "knowledge" to the uninformed get uppity when someone on the other side of the counter tries to correct them.

I think it has something to do with the counter.
I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!

I'm glad you were able to set that employee and customer straight about OC in Philly.

    ^ Yes, this. Please.
While many claim to support the right, precious few support the practice.

What's the name of the shop? I'm out here in Gettysburg for a few days and was thinking about making a run to the big city. Since I'm out at this end of the state I might as well Junior it up a bit

Can you envision TWO Doctors who are about to operate on you and cut into you and ONE Dr says no need to sedate until we cut and the other Dr says NO you do have to sedate before you cut ! My ASS would be moving faster than a speeding bullet off that table and out of the Hospital ! Applys to this gun store,I could not get out of there fast enough !

I am not a big fan of classic pistol. Every time I go there I have to wait for them to finish their conversations before they wait on people. I had a transfer done there recently and had to remind them that I was the customer, since they were arguing who WASNT going to wait on me.

The range itself is a good range, but it stops there!

There is a local shop here that is notorious for giving inaccurate information on open carry. Try and correct them and you get the holier-than-thou attitude. You would think of all places, gun shops would know this stuff.

I have heard a lot of misinformation spewed by gun store employees. For some reason many believe they know everything once they are behind that counter.
