New to Philly area need CCW advice
We're moving to Chester County this month from out of state and I just passed CCW course. I plan to get everything all through before moving but am unsure what all I need to do and what is best. We will be taking our daughter (17) into Philly often as she will be in the orchestra. She doesn't drive and hubby and I will take her. I want to cc as he will probably as well. What are the best steps to take legally and timely to ensure we are proper with our actions. Don't want to lose our firearms. Thanks for your input.

Go to the county courthouse and apply for your Pennsylvania License to Carry Firearms and you are good to go just about anywhere in the Commonwealth.

Great that you took a "CCW course" (training is always good), but it is not necessary to get a PA license to carry

I don't think your allowed to carry in the city limits. Double check on that but I don't think your allowed to have a gun on your person in Philly

Don't listen to this guy, He's joking with you [hopefully]. A PA LTCF issued by any county in Pa is good anywhere in Pa, even in Philadelphia.
Just fill out the application and bring it to the Chester county court house along with a $20 money order or check. I think Chester county is one of the good ones and will issue within 20 minutes or so.
The only thing is, to apply you need a PA driver's license with your current address on it.
Here's the app:http://www.chesco.org/DocumentCenter/View/8725
Also, where are you moving from? We don't have any registration of firearms or anything like that in PA.

That's cool I just heard you weren't allowed to carry in Philly. I didn't know you could with a special permit. That's why I said double check. Just didn't want to not say anything then they loose there gun like they said.

Re: New to Philly area need CCW advice
It's not a special permit. Just an ordinary PA LTCF.
