    Question Visit to Pennsylvania...

We'll be coming to Pa. from Florida for a family visit. Wifey and I EDC with our Fl. resident permits. I'm pretty sure Pa and Fl reciplicate. What about open carry. O/C not legal in Fl but I know it is in Pa even with out a permit. When I lived in Pa I did O/C before I got my Pa concealed carry permit (long expired). I know Philly is a no-no but how about Bucks County?
    Thanks
    Joe

I ment to put this in "General", sorry moderators for the goof-up.

    You'll be fine.

I want to point out one thing about OC. If you have no carry permit from any state, you can't transport a handgun anywhere by vehicle except range, gunshop, etc. Not even unloaded and in the trunk in a locked box. You can't even drive it to a family member's house.

So, OC is not exactly legal without a permit unless you plan to walk into PA and then walk everywhere you go. Or unless you are coming straight to a range in PA.

That does not apply to you since you have Florida permits, and OC should be fine. Keep in mind there's been a lot of buzz about Florida permits in PA news and LEO circles so if you should run into a cop you might have to explain that a resident FL permit is still honored by PA.

Last i heard, Pennsylvania still honors your Florida license as long as your a resident there. You can open carry here without a license as long as you avoid Philadelphia, stay out of cars, and we are not under a state of emergency. Philadelphia is a city of the first class so they get to require you to have a license for any form of carry. Since you said you have your Florida resident license, you should be good to go anywhere in the state as long as you don't forget about school zones.

I was in Florida last month & was informed that by a gun shop there that FL does not recognize PA LTCF because PA no longer recognizes FL LTCF due to Kathleen Kane A/G.
Are you guys saying that's not true & it hasn't become law yet ?

The change only applies to non-resident Florida permits.

If you hold a non-resident Florida permit it is not recognized in PA. If you hold a resident Florida permit it is recognized in PA.

You can still carry in a vehicle in PA with ANY license/permit, etc

I'm convinced that anything heard in a gun shop should raise flags about the veracity of what was heard.

The Attorney General doesn't write laws, neither can she modify them in any way.
While many claim to support the right, precious few support the practice.
