Default Buying a rifle from a PA resident.

    I would like to buy a rifle from a co-worker who's a PA resident.

Its Jersey compliant (I'm a Jersey resident) and have my FID card.

If someone could outline the sales' process, I would appreciate it.

Far as I know he has to send it from a Pa-FFL to an NJ-FFL for an xfer.
Jimmy cracked corn and HE didn't care! Why should I?

The long gun can be transferred in ANY of the 50 states. Doesn't have to be NJ or PA

Getting to to/from involves a deeper discussion

Probably easiest to ship it to the NJ FFL

So I take it that the transfer cant be done through a simple bill of sale.

Could he drive the rifle to an FFL in Jersey?

    INTERstate transfers need an FFL

That's a good question, but I think not.

Could this work: NJ buyer purchases rifle from PA buyer at PA FFL (if PA FFL wants to meet NJ requirements) then buyer transports rifle back to NJ? Or does NJ require the buyer to physically receive it from a NJ FFL?

You cannot do a simple BOL selling to someone that isn't a PA resident.

I sold an AR10 to a NJ resident the other year...he came over to PA and we did the transfer using a PA FFL dealer.

So it appears the NJ buyer can then transfer back to NJ once his state's requirements are met. Did the PA FFL seem OK with and prepared to deal with a NJ buyer?
