I signed up for his newsletter back around Sandy Hook timeframe. Haven't seen a peep about anything firearm related since his bill was shot down.

BTW here is the reply from him about the NSA that I mentioned earlier. It's a typical weaselly politician type response.

I also complained about the IRS and his continued support of anti-gun legislation in the email; he chose not to address either of those in his response. I added the BOLD below.

I replied to this basically telling him his answer was complete BS and I would actively work to support a primary challenger to him.

    Dear Mr. .....,

Thank you for contacting me about government surveillance programs authorized by the Patriot Act and the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act. I appreciate hearing from you.

As you know, on June 6, 2013, intelligence contractor Edward Snowden leaked to The Guardian and The Washington Post that the National Security Agency (NSA) has been both collecting telephone records and monitoring international Internet communications from nine leading U.S. Internet companies. The phone call records program obtained "metadata" from phone company customers. Metadata includes phone numbers, times, places, devices, participants and the duration of phone calls, but not the contents of the calls. Any information sought beyond this would require approval from a federally appointed Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) court judge. Under Section 215 of the Patriot Act, such collection of phone call data has been ongoing since 2006 and has required renewal of authorization every 90 days by the FISA court.

The legal authority for the Internet program (PRISM) is derived from the FISA Amendments Act of 2008. The NSA reportedly used this authority to obtain data from Microsoft, Yahoo!, Google, Facebook, Paltalk, YouTube, AOL, Skype and Apple in order to monitor audio and video chats, photographs, e-mails, documents and connection logs of non-U.S. persons who are located abroad. Several companies have since denied their involvement in the NSA program. The NSA and the Obama administration have defended the use of these programs as vital for national security and have stated that they have helped thwart multiple terrorist attacks.

One of my most important responsibilities as a Senator is protecting the American people and defending the United States from our enemies. In spite of our successes against al-Qaeda during the post-September 11 era, we still face serious threats from hostile nations and terrorists who want to kill Americans. It is critical that the federal government have the resources and powers to counter these threats, and Congress must also carefully oversee how these authorities are used. This is why, on June 13, 2013, I attended an informative classified briefing for Senators on the disclosed surveillance programs, and I plan on keeping a vigilant eye on our intelligence community.

I also realize that, at times, there is a natural tension between our national security needs and privacy concerns, which are also vitally important. In such instances, Congress has an obligation to respect constitutional protections and, as needed, step in to make sure that the American people's privacy interests and other rights are safeguarded. For instance, last December, I voted along with Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) and others in support of a proposal offered by Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR) that would have forced public disclosure of the impact of secret surveillance on the privacy of ordinary citizens. Unfortunately, this measure to shed light on our surveillance programs was defeated. That said, please be assured that I value your input and will keep your thoughts in mind as work continues on this important topic.

Thank you again for your correspondence. Please do not hesitate to contact me in the future if I can be of assistance.

    Sincerely,

The repuglican party USA and in Pa must be sent a message.
Do not court gun owner votes then stab them in the back first chance you get.
The fact that Toomey sponsored the Schumer bill is the icing on the cake !

Delaware had Mike Castle run for Senate. He was a known F rated republican.
Christine O'Donnell beat him out in the primary but lost the general election. (Because she is a flake)
The main thing was that the anti gun Repub was kept out of the Senate and removed from National politics.

We cannot count on the Republican party to help us if we do not hold their feet to the fire !

If given a choice between a known anti gun Demorat and a stab you in the back turd like Toomey,Ivan will hold his nose and vote for the Dem !

Or maybe write in Mickey Mouse.
    Toomey must go !

This Toomey character has turned out to be a feckless ineffective representative for the citizenry. The guy is so incompetent and shiftless that he can't even be termed a fraud because that mode takes some sort of effort.

On his official Senatorial WEB site, there was a list of constituent services that Toomey's office does NOT handle. Most every tentative issue that might concern a citizen is excluded. On the other hand, the other Pennsylvania senator, Casey shows those same constituent issues with most having a link to a point of problem solution. It then begs the question as to what this jerk Toomey as a United States Senator actually does in his job?

They really need to get rid of this asshole Toomey the next time around.

Anyone on here want to run for senator?
I would, but no matter how hard I try I can't lie...so I'm not qualified.

Yeah, I gotta say that Toomey has become the single biggest disappointment in politics that I can recall.

I was genuinely-excited when he narrowly beat-out Admiral Sestak, a card-carrying progressive totalitarian statist. I really hoped he was going to take up a worthy cause like entitlement reform, which was part of his campaign platform.

Instead, he went for one of the worst possible legislations introduced in Congress, which was hugely-unpopular from the get-go, introducing a completely NEEDLESS expansion to background checks that would have done ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to prevent Adam Lanza from shooting up the school-- which was what the whole debate was supposedly centered over (do it FOR THE CHILDREN).

I'm not only done with Toomey, I'm done with the Pennsylvania RNC. Their decision to dump their funds into the Romney campaign, before the PA Republican primary even took place cost them my membership and money. I voted for Rick Santorum during last year's primary, despite that I had already learned that the PA RNC had already donated everything to Romney.

The Party that Lincoln built is, unfortunately, beyond redemption or salvation, at this point.

I get emails from this spineless conservative imposter's office all the time!
From signing numorous petitions to try and put a stop to the socialist overreach we have goin on these days, and relaying my disgust for these unAmerican(socialist driven) 2nd Ammendment right confiscation acts goin on these days, I ended up on his mailing list.
Ever since he sold his soul on that Toomey/Manchan "universal background(REGISTRATION!)" bill, I don't even open them. Delete and in the trash bin!

Sure want to see him gone next term too.
But, what else we gonna get in return??? More than likely, much more radical!

This constant bashing of our governer Corbett really has me worried.
The local leftwing media tv/newspapers is really tryin their best at putting this guy down.
And many I know are buying it. It is so important, especially if you like your guns and your healthcare, to at least get Corbett back in for Obama's last 2yrs in 2014.
Mark my words!, we elect the democrat opponant for governer. We will see some of those radical Bloomberg gun laws!!!
