No fees, no hours that I am aware of. Check out the pa dcnr website. French creek is a state park so all of their standard rules apply

There are still some decent fish in Lake Ontelaunee despite the heavy fishing pressure and meat hunters during the ice season. Usually only part of the lake ices over during the winter so they can't get to the prime spots. You cannot use a boat on Ontelaunee so you either fish from shore or through the ice.

Lendog which river? They look like flatheads. Hope its not the Susquehanna.

The Susquehanna is actually pretty well known for its flathead fishing. They are starting to get caught in the Schuylkill now, even larger and in larger numbers than the Susky.

I caught them in the Susq already and I have read articles on it. Even still they are not supposed to be in there. Bass populations in certain sections of the Susq river are in big trouble and we don't need a load of good sized flatheads yet on top of it. Of course the PFBC does not really seem to care. I contacted them already about it and they blew me off.

I've been catchin them outa the Schuylkill since 2008 in the 25-30 lb range so these fish have been in there for a number of years but I think no one was aware of them or fishing for them using live baits.

Well, I went to Scotts Run and unfortunately it's so full of weeds/grass that every cast I ended up pulling in clumps of weeds on my lures. Very frustrating. I then drove to Hopewell and couldn't for the life of me find anywhere to fish from shore.

The hunt continues. I think I'll try Ontelaunee some time soon.
