Places to fish in or near Berks without a boat?
I don't have a boat but I really enjoy fishing. Can anyone share any good locations? Bass, catfish, whatever. I've only found one decent spot to fish from the shore on Blue Marsh, but 6/10 times I don't catch anything there.
Thanks!

Try Scotts Run in French Creek State Park. The state record smallmouth was caught there.

Thanks for the map, I don't know the area, but I should be able to figure it out.
Looks like two lakes in that park area, Scotts Run and Hopewell. Do they both have good spots to fish from shore? One better for certain species than the other?

Both of those lakes do have good spots to fish from the shore, the park is beautiful, even if you don't catch anything it's worth the trip. When there pick up a map to help guide you.

I think I'll toss the rods and tackle box in the truck Sunday morning and go see what I can do. Are there specific hours fishing is allowed or anything? Any fees?

IMO Scotts Run is better.
Enjoy!
