Storing greasy ammo in plastic
At some point I started storing ammo in ziplock bags for more efficient storage. I have some Wolf match target .22lr ammo and it is pretty greasy stuff.
Will this react at some point with the plastic bags and eat through it?
Should I wrap it in paper inside the bags or just store them loose in a can. (I like to keep them bagged with the box end in the bag for ID)

Re: Storing greasy ammo in plastic
Zip Lock is made out of PE. PE has "good" chemical resistance against parafins and even gasoline:

Unlike Latex, for example, which cannot tolerate exposure to any organics whatsoever. Which is why Latex gloves are strictly for the hospital and acids and bases, and can't be used for exposure to chemicals in general.
Now, does anybody know for sure what is i that grease? I'm sure it's mostly hydrocarbons, but who knows how they came up with it.
What bad thing would happen if the grease dissolved the bag? I would think that wouldn't hurt anything and you could still use the ammo. If that is true, and the best guess is the bags will hold up just fine, then I see no need to worry.

Worst thing I could see happening is the bag breaking at an unfortunate moment sending ammo all over. Not that big of a deal but was just wondering.
Thanks for the info.
