    Default 2013 Patrol Rifle Challenge

We are bringing the shoot back for 2013. Look for 150 rounds or less and we will allow rimfire.

Unique for this year we have many of the groups that utilize the club facilities helping us out and running stages and creating some stage design. The intent is to keep it somewhat defensive, within the realm of a gun game, and who better to help us with that than the trainers and law enforcement from the area.

There will be shooting from 0-200 yards on IDPA and steel targets. Categories for firearms have not been established yet but tentatively there will be .223/5.56 with and without magnified optics, 7.62+ with the same, rimfire, and possibly more based on enrollment. A "classic" category may be in store for those wanting to bust out their M1 carbine.

This sounds very interesting. I'm not too confident with my rifle skills right now though.

Was this directed at anyone in particular?

Sounds interesting to me and I'll keep it in mind. Too far out to say what my schedule will be. Usually Sept and Oct are busy times for me.

    You of course.

Or not, I cannot connect the screen name with anyone I know.

A classic category makes sense though as right now with ammo most of the wood stock older semi-auto's are the cheap guns to shoot. Plus it is a fun event, why not drag out the old stuff too?

With mention of the class the PRC will be designed with the fundamentals taught by the sponsors and local LE trainers in mind as well as stages that are a decent means of comparing various skills useful and challenging to shooters as well as fun.

People dug it last time. Not a major competition, no one will take home a new Silverado or anything.
