Practical Preservation Strategies

Want to Really know how to defend yourself?
Self-defense isn’t what you think………….
Remember how the early UFC showed a lot of martial arts to be unrealistic. Suddenly a fight wasn’t about a triple spinning head kick to a death touch palm strike. The UFC showed what techniques work when martial artists are put under pressure. We invite you to a similar wakeup call regarding self-defense. Life and death situations, should they occur, are a poor time to learn that the technique you are practicing don’t work, or, to learn that you have no preparation at all. This course will show you what works in pressure situations. Whether you are an mma veteran, a martial artist, or law enforcement personal you will be surprised!
What is self-defense?
Fighting and self-defense are different and have different definitions. Learn in what situations and context most self-defense situations occur and be prepared.
Weapons?
Many people carry weapons including guns and knives. Real self-defense is understanding these weapons. Learn in this course how weapons affect self-defense situations.

From southnarc:
Minimum Time, Maximum Result
As enthusiasts of martial arts and self-defense we’ve all probably seen something along the lines of the title of this blog post. Claims of martial prowess with minimal effort abound in the martial arts and self defense training industry. “Fear no man!” or “Defeat all Attackers!” or something similar, is usually the driving ad copy for programs that generally result in very little functionality or true confidence.
I’d like to offer an unsolicited and unconditional recommendation for the “Practical Preservation Strategies” coursework, conducted at Stout Training Pittsburgh. Practical Preservation Strategies (PPS) is a six week foundational program that relies on a solid mixed martial arts (MMA) framework which is contextually underscored specifically for the problems of criminal assault and self defense. It begins with a proven model of awareness, avoidance and de-selection from violence and moves through the realities of how criminals victimize average people. Solid MMA principles of pressure, posture, and position are inculcated and all of the training is steered towards an environment that involves weapons and multiple adversaries. The student will be pressure tested as hard as is safely possible.
For a novice it’s a great start to a long journey, and even if one doesn’t become an enthusiast, the student will walk away from the training, more prepared for a potentially lethal encounter than they ever have been before.
For the enthusiast, the course will provide a strategy template for translating their existing knowledge base towards the realities of self defense. Most mixed martial artists don’t have guns and knives pulled on them in a contest and having the opportunity to explore that reality is indeed unique.
As a life-long practitioner of martial arts firearms, and self-preservation strategies I can say it really doesn’t get any better than the unique, hybrid approach taken within PPS offered at Stout Training Pittsburgh. The program literally has something to offer everyone and will truly yield a maximum result, in minimum time.
