    Default Carrying a Glock 17

I've been in the market for a Glock 19 for some time, Have the possibility to purchase a Glock 17. Do they really carry any different in a holster. I know the g17 is a little longer. I'm a bigger guy 6 foot 1. about 260, I'm thinking I won't have a problem but looking to get some input.

It doesnt look like alot of difference in size but if its going iwb, it can be a world of difference. i carry a 5" 1911 fairly often and usually a 19 otherwise and i think a17 may be getting a bit bulky unless rolling oc and owb. id be good with that.

I carry a 17. I feel it is a bit big/bulky for comfortable concealed carry. The grip is a bit long and it takes more of an effort to conceal it. I have not owned a 19, but have shot one many times and think it is a good compromise between the 17 and the 26.

I have both a 19 and a 17. For IWB carry, the width and barrel length won't be issues -- the width is the same (and IMHO the biggest issue in terms of comfort,) and barrel length doesn't really matter much. I use a crossbreed supertuck for IWB.

The grip size will be the issue for the 17, not in terms of comfort, but in terms of printing, if your only covering garment is a t-shirt, for instance, you may find issues with printing.

I have carried a 17 concealed on many occasions, but I usually have it under a jacket or a vest and in an OWB holster. If I'm carrying the 17, it's on occasions where I'm really not worried about printing (visiting family, going to big box places like Target or Home Depot, etc.)

A lot of people have chopped their 17 grip so that it's the size of a 19 and takes 19 magazines. If you're getting a good deal on the 17, and need it for deep concealment, perhaps that might be something worth looking into?

    I carry a 17 iwb.

I find that keeping my Glock at 3'clock with the handle tilted forward makes it easy to get in and out of a car, and it conceals well with a t shirt. I'm sure anyone who was really looking for printing could locate the handle at times, but as far as I know, nobody has noticed it yet. As far as comfort, the 3 o'clock position works well, but I iwb works best with pants and a shirt that are a little loose.

I'm 6' 1" tall, and weigh 280. I imagine it would be harder for a smaller person to conceal a Glock 17.

    I've got a Glock 22 and a Glock 19.

    I ONLY carry IWB.

The Glock 19 is MUCH easier to carry than the Glock 22.

The reduction in length and height makes a world of difference.

I personally wouldn't use the same holster for both.

I'm ballpark the same size and I carry a G17 year round. You should have no problems.
