If it is for an AR the best bang for the buck would be the Magpul Mbus. They are polymer however they are actually very good in quality and work well. I have seen some real good prices for them on Ebay.

It is for an AR. The Magpul hovers around $50 on e-bay, any cheaper elsewhere?

Yeah the Magpul Mbus or Arms #71L run around the $50-$60 mark depending on where you look. If looking on ebay just make sure it is indeed the right product and not some junk airsoft crap. The Magpuls come in different colors.

A good quality fixed rear sight is the Troy fixed battlesight. It is all aluminum and is around $50-$60. I have one and they are solid.

Primary Arms, DSG arms, AIM surplus are a few good places to get them.

watch out on eBay....if they have PTS anywhere in the ad they are the airsoft version, hence why they are going so cheap

buy from a verified vendor or at least a reputable vendor you frequent

I warned him in a previous post. I hate sorting through all that airsoft crap.

    My two cents.

Had a "inexpensive" BUIS. Fell apart on me during a Carbine Course I was taking. The screw fell off. The sight was flipping back and forth every time I fired the rifle. The instructor was getting a kick out of it. I learned my lesson. Let me save you the grief.

I would say to relax, take a deep breath, save your money, and buy a really good sight.

That way you have a quality sight that you can count on. After my class I have learned that the bad point for the Magpul sights are that they don't LOCK in the up position. They lock down, but not up. So, if your would brush your rifle against your body, you could actually push the sight down, locking it in that position. You go to pull up and shoot, and your sights aren't there anymore.

They aren't cheap. But they are rock solid and the lock both in the up and the down position. Troy Industries BUIS. http://troyind.com/back-up-iron-sigh...ding-black-fde (This is what I bought to replace my sight that fell apart)

And they are having a sale right now, take $10 off.

I'm gonna say the matech. It is still used by the national guard and parts of the army can be found for 40-50 bucks. It is also adjustable for windage and elevation. I don't know of any rear flip upon that price range that is adjustable for elevation.
