    Default Would you call police?

Just curious to hear people opinions. If you had to draw your pistol but the person ran away would you bother filing a police report? If you legally pulled your weapon to defend your life but ended without incident.

I would; I'd hate for him to file one first and have to be on the defensive or for it to come back and bite me somehow later.

Most prevented crimes are not reported because people don't think it's worth reporting - however, if you think you have a strong description of the individual, I would recommend making the report anyway so that there's a papertrail of the activity.

Too many variables for me to give a solid answer.

There was a thread a while back asking if you would call the donut brigade if you were involved in a clear-cut self defense shooting without witnesses(I think). Since defending yourself isn't a crime, what is there to report? I know I'm oversimplifying this. Seeing how things went so well in Fla, how willing are you to implicate yourself in something that could be turned against you, even without firing a shot...

This..... without some sort of independent witness , he said/she said stuff can go real wrong. And you never know how vindictive that other person can get after an hour or so of stewing over the incident.

    ^^^this^^^

if someone tried to commit a crime, chances are they will try again. Any details supplied in the report may help lead to the future arrest of the perp.
