Conceal Carry Reciprocity

Hey all,
I know our PA CCP has reciprocal agreements with other states. I was checking the specs on Virginia as I will be there for a wedding soon. Pretty much identical to ours, however, I came across but cannot find a clause about certain counties banning firearms. Does anyone know of any restrictions in VA or even W VA that are above and beyond PA regs?

I'm not aware of any county restrictions on firearms carry in Virginia, furthermore Virginia has preemption like PA.

I'll chime in on this one being I now live in Virginia .

Carrying all depends on what you'll be carrying and in what county.

Certain counties restrict the open carry of long guns. I'm pretty happy that my county allows open carry of anything.

You are NOT required to inform the officer (if you get pulled over) you're carrying a concealed firearm, providing you have an LTCF (CHP in VA).

Open carry is perfectly legal in Virginia, in all counties. Unlike PA, carrying in your car is perfectly legal without a LTCF (CHP). If you do not possess a LTCF (CHP) you MUST keep your firearm in full view at all times. Absolutely no loaded long guns in the vehicle. You can keep long guns strewn about your vehicle as well as ammo.

There is no gun registration in Virginia, so nobody will be asking for your papers comrade. From my experiences here, the officers are pretty well versed in the firearm laws. They don't make up imaginary laws to fit their personal agendas. In fact, most I've come across are pretty pro 2A.

No school carry. No state or county buildings carry. They don't provide lockers, so you'll have to leave the firearm in the car or at home. You may carry your concealed weapon in an establishment that serves alcohol, but you can't consume alcohol. Its still kind of unclear whether you can open carry and consume alcohol. Personally I don't see the difference.

I'm not altogether sure about the door signs, whether they carry weight or not. I'm not concerned about them personally. If there is a no weapons sign on the door, I have a no money policy.

You are golden here in Virginia with your Pennsylvania LTCF.

I have a copany paid cell phone. I refuse to get the smart phone for a number of reasons.

No church=like in PA. So far everything looks the same with respect to restrictions and allowances.

Heading out in a few days, but luckily, I will be going the opposite direction of everyone coming up 81 for Gettysburg.

The part I highlighted is not correct. Regarding churches PA and VA are not alike. PA has no restriction on carry in a church.

How about reciprocity in the other direction? A friend from VA (has a VA carry permit) will be visiting me in PA. Is he good here to carry with his VA permit?

A VA resident with a VA CCW has reciprocity privileges in Pa.

A Pa resident with a Va CCW has reciprocity privileges until 8/9/13.

Anyone else with a Va CCW has no such privileges.
