Default I want to change mag release on glock 26 gen 3

Any info on changing mag release on glock 26 gen 3?
Either I have small hands or glock mag release sucks but I have to move my hand to press the mag release. Not just easy press with thumb to release

I did simple google research and not looking for glockworx mag release button. Reviews said it pressed against back/side hip and released accidentally when concealed. That would be disastrous.

I really like the gen 4 mag release button, anyone know if I can switch it out to gen 4 mag release? If not, know any nice after market mag release button??

    Thank you!

I was gonna try it as I have gen 4 and gen 3 guns. I think I figured out how I could make it work...

But couldnt confirm 100% without cutting the wider slot to try. If you hold them next to each other they are basically the same except the release pad is bigger on the gen 4. But the body is shorter and would leave a gap. If you cut a small piece from the gen 3 and glued it on. It should cover the cosmetic gap it would leave. I think.

The think part is why I didnt try it yet. But it will not be a drop in deal.

i've had 2 glocks that i purchased used that had extended mag release installed. the first a G30 dropped a mag while i was carrying it. the second one never had a chance. i swapped both of them back to a factory mag release. I just deal with adjusting my grip slightly to drop a mag.

I cant imagine you have hands too small to reach the mag release on a glock. Are you gripping properly?

I am not sure if the Gen 4 would work but you could try the various other aftermarket extended mag releases. IIRC Glock makes a factory extended release.

Is this what you have been reading bad things about? http://www.glockworx.com/Detail.aspx...=mag%20release

What ever you do, don't start trimming your frame to make a part fit.

Have you considered getting rid of the Glock and trying something else that may fit your hand?

I put an extended release on my g17 that I use for IDPA. After practicing with it, i filed it down, rounded the edges, a little at a time until it felt comfortable, easy to use. Doesn't stick out that far from factory, and it's a lot cheaper than filing your frame.

I have to move the gun slightly to hit the stock mag release also. I actually prefer it that way to help prevent hitting it while shooting.

I highly doubt the Gen4 mag release will work without frame modification.

I would recommend trying the Vickers mag release for the Glocks. It is slightly longer than the stocker and contoured nicely. The OE Glock extended mag release is way to long for carry.(I tried it already)

Shoot it left handed like I do! Then you can use your index finger.

I am reading this with great interest as I have a similar issue with my gen 3 27 my old and somewhat stiff hands. It is funny because I have no trouble with several other larger pistols.

the 27 is my carry so a premature "ejection " is a deal killer.

I'm with you on the old stiff hands. Well not that old. im 36, but i work outside year round and i've smashed my hands quite a few times so arthritis is rearing its ugly head. its not that i cant reach the mag release, i just don't have the strength in my hand to depress it without adjusting my grip slightly.
