new carry in 40
Currently I'm looking for a new carry gun in 40 S&W as this ammo seems to be the most plentiful in my area. Not a big fan of selling any guns so this will be an addition to the "group". The front runner right now is a springfield XDm 3.8 barrel, but I will entertain any suggestions. I have pistols from several mfg's so I'm not stuck on one maker. Thanks for sharing any knowledge you have on this matter.

I generaly carry a glock 27. I started with the gen 2, moved to gen3 and last couple of years the gen 4. It is accurate, reliable and easy to carry. It can be completely stripped in under 5 minutes.

Re: new carry in 40
Do you have a price range?
I have a G27 that is nice my only gripe would be the finger grooves as my fingers don't quite fit in them. I used a grip tape type of grip enhancer which works really good and fills the grooves a bit.
I also had a USP compact .40. Great gun. I wish I still had it.
Not to hijack but I'm wondering how the sig 239 in .40 handles during recoil (if it is the same typical .40 snap or not).

I would HIGHLY recommend a USPc .40 (my EDC) or a P2000/P30 if you prefer.

I have a M&P 40 compact never fired that I'm about to toss on the sale thread, I bought it then found a shield so I'm offloading the compact. PM me if interested, I'm in the SEPA area.

Not the greatest concealer, but I carry my Beretta 96 in cooler weather months. Shoots very well. You said you were open to all options.

Re: new carry in 40
Have a gen 3 G23 I carry often. Choice of 13 +1 or 15 +1 rounds.
The thing about Springfield Armory, when you check out their website, they say " the First Name in American Firearms" but the XDs-9 shown in the upper right corner clearly says "Made in Croatia". Kind of like buying an 'American' car that's made in Mexico.“When a man cannot chose, he ceases to be a man.”
