what advantage to a non-resident permit?
Hi all,
I have been searching the posts and web for an advantage to getting a non-res permit to carry. No luck so far.
My home state and PA share reciprocity so all PA rules apply.. except that schools thing. I don't go to schools anyway so no harm no foul.
What advantage is there for me to get a Non res permit? Can I buy handguns in PA with it or something?
Thanks in advance!

If you're in PA (I'm assuming you no longer live here?
You would be breaking federal law by coming inside of 1000 feet of a school without a PA LTCF
Dunno about you but its pretty much IMPOSSIBLE to not come within 1000' of a school

some states only have reciprocity with resident holders of ltcf but do not honor nonres permits. colorado comes to mind.

Federal law, hmmm. How many PA LEOs would really enforce that? License, reg and Insurance please. Oh, I see you're a CCW holder from out of state and just crossed within 1000ft of a middle school. Come with me please.
I'm not being smart, but it seems pretty unusual that's all. Never heard of such a thing in other states. We actually have to be on school property. I guess it is another question I have to ask the sheriff.
Thanks all!
