Default Proposed new rule for Classifieds....

After 5 "bumps" or 1000 views the price must be reduced 25% to be re-listed.......repeat every other 1000 views.

Yes, I know this will never work but too many people are wasting everyone's else's time.

When I first found this site I was very excited about the classified forums. What a great way for Pa gunowners to buy/trade. In reality I see very few deals (even reasonably priced items) and even fewer "closed" threads. Does anyone have any idea on what percentage of listings actually sell? I bet it is very low.

As I said this is a silly idea but there is some truth to it. I will quit ranting now.......

What's to stop a small group of people continually viewing the listing until it's reduced to nothing the the seller is giving it away for free?

Plus why should the forum dictate what someone is selling something for?
Rules are written in the stone,
Break the rules and you get no bones,
all you get is ridicule, laughter,
and a trip to the house of pain.

There's really no point in forcing people to lower their prices. Besides, the classified section is just an added bonus that PAFOA allows us to use. It does suck skimming through the classifieds and seeing the same ads getting bumped to multiple pages, but it's just easier to laugh or shake my head and move on to the next ad than to complain about it.

I haven't given anyone shit on this site about their prices. But, I have hit a few people on armslist asking if their $10/box Tula 7.62x39 is better than the Tula 7.62x39 that I just bought for $5.17/box. I never get a response.

    How true.

Give someone a screen name and a keyboard, sit back and enjoy the stupid talk that follows!
In order to get intelligent answers you must speak intelligently.

Just for clarification I am all for a free market and even I am against pricing controls........(I did say this was a silly idea).

Just more than once I see something I am interested in, look at the location and see its close, Then get excited till I see a price way higher than going to a local gun shop.........This should be a great section for everyone to sell/trade items for more than they will get in trade at a gunshop. Unfortunately from what I see there are too many people that should be on Craigslist.

Sorry, Just had to rant a bit. Don't take me too seriously.

How about for every third ad someone views he must either buy it or donate $11.48 to a charity of the newest users choice?
    Some people just plain suck.
If you're gonna be dumb ya gotta be tough.

I'm with bogey1. Price in title would help a ton.

General regional info/sorting would also help.

Donating 1% to PAFOA (if you actually find a good deal) would be better!
