Police Shoot & Kill Grandfather Responding To Burglary alarm
http://dfw.cbslocal.com/2013/05/28/p...burglary-call/
FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) – A grandfather checking on his neighbor is shot and killed by Fort Worth police. The shots rang out early Tuesday morning near Woodhaven Country Club, in east Fort Worth.
Those close to the family say the victim lived nearby and heard his neighbor’s burglar alarm. Neighbor Jerry Wayne Waller then apparently went outside to see what was going on.
The 72-year-old man didn’t even make it to the house across the street before he was shot. He died on his own property.
The neighbors in the Woodhaven Country Club area and generally know each other pretty well. Becky Haskin, a former Fort Worth City Councilmember, lives in the area and said she believes Waller, “…was doing what neighbors do probably checking on the neighbor that the alarm went off.”
The elderly man, who was armed at the time, was shot and killed in his own driveway by police responding to a burglary call. “We heard five shots,” Haskin recalled. They were just rapid fire one after the other.”Its easier to fool people than to convince them they've been fooled....Mark Twain

Also, Fort Worth police tased and killed a guy with asthma they thought was resisting.
http://blogs.star-telegram.com/crime...th-police.html
FORT WORTH — A 300-pound man who was subdued when he was hit by a Taser fired by a Fort Worth police officer during a drug raid Thursday died soon afterward, authorities and relatives said Friday.
Moments after police kicked open an unlocked door of a house in the 3200 block of Thannisch Avenue, they had Jermaine Darden, 34, facedown on the floor, said his mother, Donna Randle.
Police said an officer fired his Taser when Darden resisted arrest.
His mother said several people shouted at officers that Darden, who had asthma, was not resisting but was struggling to breathe.
“They were trying to lay him on his stomach, and he can’t breathe while he’s on his stomach,” Randle said. “He was trying to turn over so he could breathe. But they ignored us and Tased him.”
Darden was pronounced dead at 5:06 p.m. in the emergency room at John Peter Smith Hospital, the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office reported. The cause of death had not been determined late Friday.

Even Charlie Ramsey is lookin into it.
Report: Philly Police Use Of Force To Be Examined
May 29, 2013 11:01 a.m.
Philadelphia's police commissioner has reportedly asked federal authorities to take a look at the police department's use of deadly force.
Commissioner Charles Ramsey told Philly.com that he sought the review due to the rising number of police-involved shootings.
Philadelphia police shot 52 suspects last year, killing 15 of them. In 2011 police wounded or killed 35 people.
Officers shot and killed a man Saturday, the fourth police-involved shooting in as many days and the third resulting in a suspect's death.
Ramsey said the number of shootings "gets people wondering if they were all justified."
He said police had been looking at the issue since December and the Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice "agrees this is a good course of action."

Re: Police Shoot & Kill Grandfather Responding To Burglary alarm
They should. The Brit cops don't carry guns and look at how fucking safe it is there. Where else in the world can you record a murder, interview the red handed asshole and then post the video online. Cops don't need guns for that shit.
I'll bet if you took away their "immunities" and stopped the "privileges" you find the only cops left are the ones who actually know what the laws are and aren't assholes about you exercising your rights.

Re: Police Shoot & Kill Grandfather Responding To Burglary alarm
And people wonder at why there is growing discontent at the police by regular average Americans.
You can search and find all day and night long on You Tube and see innocent people being shot and beaten by police that have no business being an officer of the law. People have little respect for law enforcement and law enforcement perpetuates the problem by keeping on bad apples and trying to cover up. This is has always been a problem, it didn't just start with the advent of the internet and You Tube.
The bigger question that hasn't been answered sufficiently to date is how to resolve the problem to balance the rights of the citizens and keep a civil society where law abiding people may move freely without having to navigate crime ridden streets.
The cities of America have become a lost cause, the administrations are as corrupt as humanly possible, the criminals have more rights than the law abiding, the police are their own street gangs meting out street justice and answer to no one. The average citizen must rely solely on themselves and avoid confrontation with both the police and the drug gangs. What a way to live, and the people living in those cities time after time vote for the same people that perpetuate and revel in this situation.
I don't hate the police as I have said before, but I do tend avoid the local police as much as possible because they are definitely poorly trained and have their own agenda that doesn't always coincide with good community policing. The PA State Police in my area seem to be the only trustworthy option as far as law enforcement goes. If we lose that, anarchy is not far down the road.Last edited by JenniferG; May 29th, 2013 at 06:14 PM.
