Top Republican Strategist Cashing Checks To Help Destroy Gun Rights…
Yet another R.I.N.O. suckling at the teat of Nanny Bloomberg who happens to have the position of advising others in the R.I.N.O. pen at the political zoo.
This is a little side story that few will likely pay much attention to, but it represents the now intense ideological battle being waged within the Republican Party where establishment operatives are willing to work alongside Big Government liberals for cash and power – and to keep the new crop of conservatives as far away from the seats of influence as possible.
Mike Murphy is a well known (and reasonably well regarded) GOP strategist. Viewed as somewhat moderate, those views match his high profile GOP political clients that include both John McCain and Mitt Romney. Essentially, Murphy has been instrumental then in forming the much more tepid (and failing) Republican messaging at the national level for nearly the last decade.
A just released report reveals that Mr. Murphy is now cashing checks from none other than Michael Bloomberg to help roll out Billionaire Bloomberg’s national anti-gun rights campaign. It would appear Mike Murphy, like other moderate/liberal Republicans – has no problem being paid to effectively promote a current agenda that is very much in line with the Democrat Party’s anti-guns agenda of the last twenty years. Bloomberg is a strong supporter of Barack Obama - the same Barack Obama who attempted to capitalize on the tragedy of Sandy Hook to suddenly push for a massive expansion of federal authority over gun ownership in America.
Thus, Mike Murphy represents what is so wrong with the Republican establishment – an establishment that stands for so little and so willing to fall for anything. It is this establishment that has turned off conservative voters by the millions that has allowed Democrats to maintain control over the White House and Senate.
That must end. New figures like Senator Ted Cruz and Senator Rand Paul, among others, are pushing back against the Republican powers that be – and gaining both in popularity and influence as they do so. Neither Cruz nor Paul are perfect – no such political figure has ever existed, for you cannot be all things to all people. They both represent a willingness to speak out against all encompassing conformity though, where it is getting more and more difficult to tell apart a Republican from a Democrat in Washington D.C. While you may not agree with every statement or stance by politicians like Ted Cruz or Rand Paul, at least they are making statements and taking stands at all. This country needs more contrast between the Big Government globalists and those who value the Constitution – not less contrast.
As for operatives like Mike Murphy and his moderate Republican clients – they are going the way of the Dodo.
Good riddance.

Do you think a note to the Republican National Committee would be in order?

A big part of the problem is that they know they can play the good cop bad cop routine "Well, what are you going to do, vote for THEM, who HATE your gun rights?" and that's all they need to do right now. They know we'd be stupid to cut off our noses to spite their face. Primary pressure is about the most we can do, and the good news with that is that primaries are low money, low turnout so it's actually pretty effective but we have to do a lot to force attention to it.

Guys like Mike Murphy are in it only for the money. He could be a republican today and a democrat tomorrow it doesn't matter to him as long as someone signs the paycheck.

Republicans and democrats don't give a dam about anything. It's just business and we are all sheep. The only thing more important than money is power. They will tell you what you want to hear to get your vote. Strategist are the experts that are hired to determine what needs to be said, and to whom, to get your vote. If you go to the polls and vote only based upon your 2A rights, your playing right into their hands. They love single issue voters. You can easily put together a patchwork quilt of single issue voters and end up with a pretty oppressive government. Watch them pander to anti abortion catholics, evangelical christians (creationism & christian nation), gun owners, minorities (deportation or stop welfare), big business ..etc. It's a regular circus side show. My personal favorite is when the house or senate vote on meaningless things (that pander to single issue voters) that can't posssibly get thru congress and even if it did would be struck down because it's clearly against the constitution. It's a regulay carnie show....
